What is website SEO?

 Website SEO stands for Search Engine Optimisation.
This is essentially what will increase the traffic (users) and quality of traffic that your website will receive. This is done organically.

If we break this down:

• Quality of traffic:
  • More people that are interested in your business will find you website on Bing/Google.
• Quantity of traffic:
  • The number of users coming through.
• Organic:
  • You are gaining users “normally”. The viewers are finding your site.
    
    

How do we get it right?

If you are an established business, and have money, you can hire a professional agency to handle SEO for you.

There are ways to do SEO yourself, for free.

Firstly, know what words to use on your site. You can find words with high search results using Bing Webmaster Tools keyword research. The words you write will help with the ranking of your site upon search results.

You must also make sure you have a Meta title, description, and image for your site.

Update your website consistently and keep submitting URL’s to Bing and Google.

 Note: This will not be as good as SEO done by an agency.

How to get your site on Bing and Google

To get your site to show on Bing, Google . . .
You need to submit your URL to them.

Submit site to Bing: Bing Webmaster Tools
Submit site to Google: Google Search Console

Once you have this, you need to generate a sitemap. A good tool for this is: XML Sitemaps Generator.
You will need to type in your website URL, then press enter. The site will crawl your site, looking for every page. Let it complete. When its completed select View Sitemap Details. Next, download the Sitemap. Upload it to your site, then place the URL of the sitemap onto google search console.

Also, having your business listed on Bing and Google can also help bring up your site.
